Code of Conduct

Our Commitment

We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices.

We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.

Expected Behavior

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers are expected to:

• Be respectful and considerate in all interactions
• Communicate openly with respect for others
• Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech
• Be mindful of your surroundings and fellow participants
• Alert conference staff if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress
• Respect the boundaries and personal space of others
• Listen actively and attentively during sessions
• Provide constructive feedback when appropriate

Unacceptable Behavior

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

• Verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion
• Sexual images in public spaces
• Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
• Harassing photography or recording
• Sustained disruption of talks or other events
• Inappropriate physical contact
• Unwelcome sexual attention
• Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior

Professional Conduct

Networking: While networking is encouraged, please respect others' time and space. Don't monopolize conversations or aggressively promote your products or services.

Photography and Recording: Always ask permission before photographing or recording individuals. Do not photograph or record presentations if prohibited by the speaker.

Respect Intellectual Property: Do not share, redistribute, or commercially exploit conference materials without permission.

Enforcement

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including:

• Warning the offender
• Expulsion from the conference without refund
• Prohibition from future conference events
• Reporting to appropriate authorities if necessary

Reporting

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of conference staff immediately. Conference staff will be identifiable by special badges or shirts.

Conference staff will be happy to help participants:

• Contact venue security or local law enforcement
• Provide escorts
• Otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all conference spaces, including talks, workshops, parties, social media, and other online platforms. It also applies to all attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and staff.
